Fanfan was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China. Fanfan immigrated to the United States in 2001 and became a U.S. citizen in 2012. After graduating from University of Maryland, College Park, where he was a business scholar, Fanfan attended the Michigan State University College of law in 2013. Fanfan garnered vast experience in the legal field during law school, including externship with Michigan Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie E. Aquilina and clerkship with a firm specializing in employment law in Okemos, Michigan. After graduating from law school, Fanfan was hired as the judicial attorney to Michigan Circuit Court Judge Richard N. LaFlamme, where he remains part time today.
Professional and Community Activities:
Fanfan is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a special consultant to the board of the Jackson County Bar Association. Fanfan also serves on the board of the Jackson Exchange Club and has volunteered in the past with the Salvation Army. In his free time, Fanfan is an avid fan of sports and video games, and plays basketball at the local YMCA at least three times per week.
